The Days in a Life of COVID-19
After weeks of bad decisions by stupid people, misinformation and denial, the United States government can’t lie their way out of a global pandemic. As the country’s hodgepodge of in-charge people accept the real reality (not the fake one they invent) of the situation, the nation starts bracing for a COVID-19 lockdown. Within a few days, shelter in place begins at the Minnesota home of married couple, Brian and Maggie Summers. We join them in their house on day 1. It’s cold outside, but at least the sun is shining.
Day 1:
“This is different, but it’s good. We’re never home together this much, so that’s kind of nice.” — Brian to one of his co-workers via Zoom
“I mean, more time with each other and more time to walk the dog, make banana bread, and we’re both okay with being homebodies.” — Maggie to her mother via Google Hangouts
“Pretty much just working and walking Rolf four or five times a day and binge-watching TV.” — Maggie to her neighbor, from over the fence
“Whoa, the woman from TV’s Tommy was in The Sopranos. I did not know that.” — Brian to Maggie who is sitting on the couch
Day 3:
“We’re settling in nicely. I like playing Scrabble with Maggie.” — Brian to his mother
“I’m still pretty busy with work stuff, so it feels pretty normal.” — Maggie to her sister in Fargo
