Short background: after a death in my family, I was experiencing guilt for being alive. Then one day as I was listening to Springsteen album, Darkness on The Edge of Town, a line from “Badlands” stood out: “It ain’t no sin to be glad you’re alive.” Long story short, that resonated with me but I felt the need to write about dying and I dig Bruce Springsteen and this is the strange way those two things coupled in my mind during this season of life.

INTERNAL STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS: Hot damn! There’s nothing better than being out for a run, one of the first of the year. It’s spring and these old legs are loving this freedom. Got my shorts on, I can feel the back of them hit that spot behind my knee. I wonder what that spot is called. I’ve got a tibia, a fibula, a shit load of bones in my foot, ACL, MCL, LCL and a meniscus in my knee but what’s behind it? NUTS! It’s a nice day. I don’t know. Who am I, Doogie Howser? That was a great show, even if it was ridiculous. Neil Patrick Harris is a national treasure, well, kind of, maybe not. The greater Neil: Diamond, Patrick Harris or Armstrong? PATRICK HARRIS. Walking on the moon is overrated, in my opinion. He did it once. NPH has been going strong for decades. My breathing is pretty good. This is impressive.
